Youth Activities Christ’s
Legacy; Our Youth Every generation of God’s people has a responsibility to the successive generations. Parents are to raise up their children “in the training and admonition of the Lord” (Ephesians 6:4), and by doing so an impact is made not only on the lives of the children, but of their children, and grandchildren, and numerous descendents for generations to come. Christ’s legacy of salvation through Him is passed down to hundreds, or maybe thousands of people. For this to happen, children must have a strong spiritual foundation. Thankfully, Christian parents are not alone in this daunting task. There is an extended spiritual family who is willing to assist in setting the future of the Lord’s church on a long-lasting path of truth and faithfulness. It is the duty, and must be in the interest of every Christian to secure the future fruitfulness of the Lord’s church. The Church of Christ in Killeen, TX is dedicated to establishing a foundation for our young people, allowing them to reach their God given potential in this wicked world. Our young people are a blessing, and our prayer is that their great great grandchildren will “know the hand of the Lord, that it is mighty” (Joshua 4:21-24). This congregation is blessed with many young families who have children ranging in ages from infants through college age. Many activities keep our youth moving in the areas of developing their talents for the cause of Christ. Some young men are learning to speak publicly, while others are developing their talents in the leading of singing, and in many other areas of public worship. Special times are set aside for each to publicly stand before the assembly. The young ladies are also given many opportunities to develop their talents. Various activities help them to understand their role in the work of Christ. Many social activities are also planned during the year, giving the youth opportunities to become better acquainted. Trips to Six-Flags; outings of various sorts; devotionals; and other such activities are planned so our youth can interact with other Christians from various places. |
