MARRIAGE: TAKE A PEEK... Thanks to columnist Lori Borgman for much of the
material that I shall Our nation is facing some difficult times. One of the areas of concern (by all means, not the only problem) is our view of marriage. Many are pushing for same-sex marriage. I am sure you have seen the lines of people on news reports getting joined in same-sex unions. Take a look at some Scandinavian countries who long
ago accepted such. In Scandinavia, marriage has ceased being a big event in young people's lives. While marriage once signaled the hallmark of maturity in the journey of life, today the mark of maturity is having a baby. Couples become an item, birth a child, live together for a year or so, then off to another soul-partner. The majority of children, we are told, in Sweden and Norway are born out of wedlock. It has resulted in an immense welfare state and state-run day care. Tax-payers attempt to fill the void of mom and dad-or of couples who have children having never tied the knot. Our beloved country's link between marriage and family has been waning for a number of decades. We do not need to re-define marriage, we need to re-state truths that have long held this great country together. We have just noticed Scandinavia. Take a history lesson. Go back and see results of nations that gave way to ungodly practices. Read the history of the Roman Empire. If we would take a good look, we would quit trying to be Politically Correct, and return to marriage as God set it forth at the very beginning. God did not make Adam and Jake; he made them: Male and Female. Adam's wife was a female. She was called woman. God made woman for the man. Not a man for a man; or woman for woman. As a nation, we will make a decision. We will decide for success or failure. Will we choose God-ordained union of one man and one woman, or will we give into the sexual grouping that the minority in our country is calling for today?
